Mycoplasma levels.

Recommended Posts

Don't have a lot of info for you but do have lab work here. We had the whole family tested for strep and mycoP. Here are our mycoP results:

Mine 169,

DH 172,

PANDAS DS 138,

PANDAS DD 50

We were told by DR. T and Dr. B that we were all ok in that area. Not sure how your lab tests and calibrates it all but it might give you a hint of an answer till you get medical advice or someone else can chime in from the forum.

I'm sorry...I meant IgG or IgM? Emerson, it sounds like your numbers may be IgG, and that sounds high to me. IgG indicates that you have been exposed to MycoP. IgM means that you have an active infection. In my family's case, I don't know what, exactly my numbers were, but Dr. B. called, and told me that my IgM was elevated, and that meant I actually had MycoP (that would certainly explain my uncontrolled asthma for 3 years, and the fact that the only thing that ever worked for me was Azith...which I probably was never on a high enough dose/long enough to knock it out.

My children tested high IgG to MycoP, which means they have been exposed in the past. Dr. K. believes that this could be a cause of some of the rages.

I would definitely see what you can do about getting the Immunologist in Dallas (check with LSS about who that is, if you don't already know) and/or maybe see if your mom will bring you to San Antonio, where it sounds like there is a new group on board (they do IVIG and PEX, apparently!)

Good luck.

Tpotter,

So mine sounds crazy high then, right? My IGg at 4.64? I was so upset when I read the bloodwork. My DS has the rage but both specialists didn't think I needed to be treated from the results from June but now that DS is showing flare-up, Dr. B. just re-tested me. I'm anxiously awaiting my results!

anything over 1.10 is positive and yes that would be your IGG (prior exposure). My DS is over 5.0 for his IGG and 1288 for his IGM (neg is <770) - along with strep at 680.

I just wanted to mention what a remarkable young lady I think you are and you have really given the parents on this forum such valuable insight to what it is like to be actually someone that suffers from this horrible affliction but yet in the same breath can overcome so much!

Well, when I see the ID Specialist I was planning on asking to be tested for all the secondary infections & co-infections of Lyme, so should I get the IGM ran then? I've never had respiratory problems, but I've also never ever once had pneumonia (Or so I thought...) so should I check it out just in case?

& thank ou TygerToo! :)

Hi Emerson,

The symptoms you may have had would be more flu like. We did not suspect myco last fall, it was more like swine flu. It was by chance we found it when 2 weeks later my daughter began breaking out in hives. Her Dr. is pretty good and tested her for myco because of her hives. She was positive with an active infection.

I have found that anything is possible - my DS has had walking pneumonia 1-2x year since he was 10 months old (he is now 8) so the high myco P titers did not surprise me...however he has never been positive strep throat and his antiDnase B was off the chart. Also I never knew I had been bitten by a tick and due to symptoms I had was diagnosed last year with Erlichia Chaffesis....so keep asking for tests until you figure it all out!

You go girl and don't give up!! :D

Giving up is most definitely not on my list of things to do. :D Thank you for the encouragement!

& yeah, our bodies are mysterious things. The only two times that I've ever been negative for strep have been the two times that I went into CareNow because my throat hurt THAT bad. Every single other time, when my throat didn't hurt in the least bit, I was off the wall positive. I'm calling a doctor on Tuesday to set an appointment to, if nothing else, get some tests, including an IGE MycoP & one for Epstein Barr, which I had never even heard of until a phone conversation with one of my cybermoms just a few minutes ago, haha.
