NewBeginnings Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Hello, I was wondering if anyone could share anything that they have noticed that helps reduce inflammation? (in addition to abx and Motrin). We seem to be battling so much inflammation and I'd love to hear any suggestions on things that may also help. We are also battling late stage Lyme as well. So far, I have found that epsom salt baths have a calming effect, massage therapy really helps with headaches and pupil dilation and gargling with salt water to help ward off any other germs all seem to help a great deal, but I'd love to hear about anything else you've noticed that doesn't involve more pills! Thank you!
Suzan Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Hi. My number one suggestion would be to go gluten free and reducing any foods that are inflammatory. After that, taking a lot of omega 3's and testing for allergies or intolerances to foods. Changing our diets have really helped and we have a long way to go. I like this link.... http://theconsciouslife.com/top-10-inflammatory-foods-to-avoid.htm Susan

We don't have any dairy, gluten, try to always eat organic, and really stick to a clean diet with all the meds we are on and bc of Lyme. I really like that link though - thanks! Is there a particular brand of Omega 3 you recommend? And how much do you try to give? We are currently using Coromega 3 that comes in the little packets 2 x day, but if you have found something better, I'm all ears.

But I don't have any brand that I'm really gaga over. I've sort of been looking around too. I know Omegabrite has been highly recommended but we have nto tried it yet. Susan
Stephanie2 Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Here is what we use for inflammation: gluten/casein free and food elimination diet/Feingold diet/organic curcumin (Enhansa) Spironolactone (also for immune modulation) LDN (low-dose naltrexone - also for immune modulation) Vit D Vit E
Joan Pandas Mom Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 There are a few natural anti-inflammatories too. I will get the name of one we got from our Lyme Doc. we saw. It has tumeric, rosemary, green tea and a few other natural anti-inflamatories. I am concerned about the green tea in it though. I don't know if it has caffeine. I definitely don't want to give my son Caffeine! I need to calm his brain, not stimulate it!!!!
