I just sent sent her a write up of his history the best that I could remember. I did ask my dr. to give me the dates of documented strep just so that I could write it up accurately.

 

 

Hi all -

 

I just received a response (very quickly, too) early this morning from Dr. Cunningham regarding being part of her study. She indicated that they were beginning again around January 14th. She also wrote, "I will need a complete history and any records of streptococcal infections and other infections, onset and symptoms etc. Please inform if your family has history of rheumatic fever or othertypes of autoimmune diseases."

 

My question is for those of you who have provided this information already... Do I need to send my official records from my child's doctor, or do I just do a write-up of the history, etc?

Same here, I just typed it up in an email back to her.

When I requested the kit via an e-mail message, I just said "my son has had tics and ocd for the past 7 years". she didn't aske me for anything else after that.

Based on my interaction, a short write up is helpful. Primarily she's looking for information about whether your child has OCD or tics. If tics, whether vocal or motor. Was your child in an exacerbation at the time of the draw. Was the exacerbation correlated with a streptococcal infection (via throat culture or other mechanism). How long has your child had the condition? Is it mostly constant or does it wax/wane? Has it gone in remission for > 3 months? If OCD, what are the symptoms/diagnosis?

 

that sort of stuff.... more like a parent history.
