CAM Kinase score/our story

I just got my daughter's CAM score, which was 165. Blood was was not drawn during a particularly bad time, although not great. Her neuronal antibodies were all at the very high end of normal, except one which was in the middle of the normal range.

 

My daughter's symptoms started when she was 4 months old and was ill with what we thought was just a common cold (no fever, just congestion). She became very lethargic, and remained that way even after the cold had gone away. She stopped making vocalizations, stopped trying to roll over, and basically became like an vacant shell. She gradually came back to life, but after that, she had a strange wrist rolling hand movement (milk-maid grip) which made me worry about PANDAS even then. Currently, she is near normal, but has behavior changes every time she gets sick, which include being more temperamental and more sensory seeking.

 

I also have a 7 year old son who had a CAM score of 118 (though he was in fairly good shape at the time of the draw), who has more severe behavioral issues that worsen more dramatically following ANY activation of his immune system. My son's issues are sensory seeking, perseveration, drunken/loopy behavior, self-regulation issues, etc. His neuronal antibodies were all low normal, with one being below normal.

One (7) Cam score was 162

 

Second son (10) Cam score 112

 

Both were also in fairly good shape at time of draw.

 

Younger son has more severe symptoms (ocd, tics, anxiety, etc)

 

Older son only has tics

Sounds like my daughter, however, my daughter's symptoms started at age 6, possibly age 4. She is now 10. Her CAm score was 163. The others were very high normal with one in the middle, just like yours. When blood was taken, her OCD was mild, but she was experiencing tics. A few days later, she had a major burst of symptoms, and we found out that her best friend had strep. We had her tested, and her culture was negative. Anytime she is exposed to a virus, she has a symptomatic burst, whether or not she actually gets sick.
