negative results from cranial sacral therapy?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone's child has had a negative effect from cranial sacral therapy? My son was evaluated by 5 cranial sacral therapists, 3 osteopaths and 3 TMJ dentists at a seminar on Friday and they all came to the same conclusion without me telling them anything - my son had trauma at birth (true), was colicky from the second he came out (true), had digestive troubles (true). They said he would benefit greatly from cranial sacral therapy. He is doing so well right now that I am afraid to rock the boat. Anyone have any experience?

I am usually on the PANDAS post but saw your question on the main page. My son is having CST. He's 5 and started with PANDAS symptoms a year ago.

Our dr said he thought it would take 4-6 times to see if it was having a benefit. He is also doing a homeopathic protocol from the same practioner. I'm not sure what result he is getting from the CST. We are paying out of pocket so I am not having him go as often as I'd like. The dr. said he'd have him go every week - we're only doing about once/month.

After the treatments, he does seem to have a greater sense of calm and peace. The last one was his 3rd - that night, he was off the wall - loud and throwing things out of the bath. It was short-lived and the next day, he seemed peaceful.

In general, my son is doing well. I think it's more the homeopathic protocol than the CST.

I would definitely recommend it.

Hi mylittleangel,

I hope all is going well.

I know this is not exactly what you are asking but I thought I would share.

As you know my son has mostly vocals and at times he has been screaming/very loud vocals. Well my children have grown up praying the Rosary every night and when he first exploded with the vocals, boy... I tell you I could not wait for the prayer time to be over with, because he was so loud I felt like the prayer didn't mean anything anymore. I could not focus, so what I decided to do was give him a head rub while we said our Rosary. I could tell he got so much quiter and sometimes he would not make a peep. He loves them now and I see that he is so relaxed and calm. Now mind you I'm not doing anything but rubbing his head, I do not know how to do CST. He tells me it feels so good and I have gently pushed on the bones in his face, he loves that.

Anyway I thought I would share, because we have seen good results with just a head rub.

So this was the TMJ/ALF seminar? What did they say about your son's TMJ? did they think it was pressuring on nerves? You were saying he is doing so well. Is he still with what the TMJ specialist glued to his teeth to alleviate pressure?
