Hi and welcome :(

I split your post off the pinned thread as that is more for linking useful sites and threads, not discussion

I have never noticed my son having any pull toward looking at the sun

probably a good idea to have your child wear sunglasses while outdoors till this passes

welcome,

Yes, my son had that tic at 8yo and lasted until he was 12yo. He does not do that anymore, and he is out side a lot, playing baseball. He is 15 and a half now.

He got glasses when he was 12 so I'm not sure if that is what caused him to stop or if it just change into diff. tics.

Good luck I hope you get lots of info here.

Thank you for reposting my question. It's my first time using this format...I will try the glasses. I just finished reading Natural Treatments for Tics and Tourette's and thought this might be a sensory tic??

Just wanted to say that our son who is 8 now did this a lot over the last couple of years - he would look up at the sun or a bright light and wave his fingers in front of it. We had him checked out with an eye doctor and there was nothing wrong, but we decided to get him glasses with the Transitions lenses which darken in bright light. We got them last year and don't see him making those movements any more.
