guy123 Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Here's a video of a Brazilian Jujitsu (martial art) instructor demonstrating a technique. He has TS and has a blinking tic. This is what mine looks like (mine isn't quite as frequent as his), but it's that hard scrunch-your-eyebrows-down blink. Just want to clarify that this is what you all mean by "blinking tic" and you're not talking about that rapid flutter "butterfly kiss" blink like some people have. Just click on this, it will play: http://www.lloydirvinlive.com/trivid925/ btw I just realized I made 4 new thread in the last hour. sorry... lol
ilovedogs Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Well, my ds has a combination blinking/winking tic. His is a wink on the right side that actually comes from the muscle in his cheek and then he'll sometimes add in the blink afterwards. The winking tic is the one I see almost everyday with him. The others get added in from time to time and wax/wane. If he gets stressed or excited I see the winking more exaggerated and it seems more frequent.
Chemar Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 my son's eye tics have varied over the years so dont fit any one pattern
familyof4 Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I believe we were told my son's blink comes from his 5th and 7th cranial facial nerves. Not sure if that helps? Heather
guy123 Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 I just wanted to make sure that we were all on the same page with reference to the physical appearance of it.
