rysmom58 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Hi, So I started my son on kids calm tonight (after having an increase in tics with fish oil) and I only gave him 1/2 a tsp. b/c it mentioned something about bowel movement issues if given too much. So, I was wondering if I should give him another 1/2 tsp in the morning or does it cause drowsiness? Has anyone had any negative experiences with stomach issues? my son is 6 and weighs 54 pounds. thanks so much for your input... I just want him to be able to get through his day at school with his tics interferring as little as possible.
crazy Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 It does not cause drowsiness in my son. He gets 1/2 tsp. with breakfast and 1/2 tsp. with dinner. In the beginning he did have diarehea (sp?) but it did go away quickly. He really likes taking it due to the flavor. faith Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 same as above, no drowseness and I give same amount. if you start seeing a loose bowel movement, then you can cut out the morning or evening dose for a bit. Faith
patty Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 No drowsiness here either, but i only give my son 1/4 tsp about twice a week. How about just giving it to your child at bedtime? Pat
Chemar Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 magnesium has always had a very relaxing effect on my son and when he needs to relax before sleep , he actually takes natural calm to help with that
