Anyone here got worse after taking vitamin D?

Recommended Posts

By the way, bws1565, what is your practitioner actually testing for? For what the infection/allergy/other problem is, or for what you should take, or both?

And would they need to have any knowledge of infection stuff, or nutrition, or ASDs/OCD/Tourette's, themselves, to know what they should be looking for? (i.e. does yours?) I just need to know what it is I'm looking for before I write to the homoeopath asking for recommendations.

Thanks,

Wombat140

After testing 2 drops of D3 (2000 IUs) between my DD's toes she had the exact same reaction as when she takes it orally: very psychotic-like behavior. I have come to the conclusion that D is increasing her dopamine levels, which is already excessively high. To counter its effect (D has a very long half-life), I increased her GABA and added a small dose of taurine. This helped a lot. Will never try D with her again! 😱

Wombat, the consultation took about 1 hour.

He tested the strength of every single of her organs, and then checked the presence of many parasites/infections etc. He also checked her for electromagnetic sensitivity. He detected a MTHFR mutation. Also tested for many, many food sensitivities. Basically I think he really really covered alot. He took her off several foods, like wheat, milk and white sugar. Gave her many vitamins and some herbs.

Thanks, that's helpful. So that sounds like he had some kind of expertise in this area himself, to think of testing those things at all?

I mean, he knew what a MTHFR mutation is, that's ahead of nine-tenths of health professionals you might see, I think! Although a lot of the other things you say he did, e.g. parasites and food sensitivities would be familiar to a lot of complementary therapy people even if they didn't have any specialist knowledge of PANS or neurodiversity stuff, so we wouldn't be starting completely from scratch even if (not much "if" about it) we can't find anyone who's familiar with this stuff.

What was he besides muscle testing, I mean was he a PANDAS-specialising doctor, or a nutritionist, or what?

Yes, I imagine he went through a lot himself. I know he is a cancer survivor. His practice is called a "Wellness Center". He is officially a chiropractor, but also does a lot of nutrition.

Incidentally, we need to see him about every two weeks and he does some laser/light chiropractor treatments. There are some things, like strep, that he is treating through laser treatment. It looks very weird and my DD and I giggle through the treatment, but who cares!! It works. I just got a compliment last night; someone who hasn't seen my DD in a while commented on the positive change in her.

When my DS was at his most ill with PANDAS Vit D would exacerbate all do his symptoms; tics, anger, OCD, paranoia, sensation of itching. He's been off Vit D supplements ever since I connected the dots...I still pay attention to the amount in the foods he eats and try to minimize the amount he gets in one sitting. omega 3's also did a never on him.
