Michel12
A couple weeks ago I got my results back for the cunningham panel through Doctor L. The results Dopamine D1 titer: 16,000 tublin: 2,000 CaM Kinase II: 192 Other two havent shipped yet. I was perscribed a steriod and augmentin. I did not feel like the steriod helped and i'm not sure about the augmentin yet. My pychiatrist was unsure about the panel basically saying it wasnt s cinece and he had no idea what these number meant. He doesnt think there is enough body of evidence to discern what these numbers mean. Although he said he doesn't know much about PANDAS. Should I call Dr. Cunningham like Dr. L recommended I do? I hope this augmentin works but I don't know how long I will need to see results.
MaryAW
I would absolutely give a call. Why not? From what I understand, the C Panel is for hard to diagnose cases. The best way to diagnose PANS/PANDAS is by looking at the symptoms. ABX took at least a week for us to see results (we use Zithromax). Ibuprofen worked almost immediately, cutting down the OCD, nightmares, etc. by maybe 50%. I was diagnosed clinically too before the Cunningham. It was kind of so we could have it on paper. Minocycline worked very well for me. But that wasn't prescribed by this doctor. Im hoping the augmentin works the same but im nervous that I did not feel good on the taper down steroid. Also are those results high?
MaryAW
I do not understand the Cunningham tests. I have heard her speak twice, and I still don't understand the tests. Are you seeing a dr. who understands PANDAS? If you go to the Moleculera Lab web site, they show what is "normal." See links below. Your results are high based on their guidelines. hope this helps. http://www.moleculera.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Report-Template-Version-3-1.pdf http://www.moleculera.com/testing/
Rachel
I have been told that the best time to have this test, is when your child has had an increase in symptoms and having a really bad flare. My son had this done right after he had a double ear infection and his symptoms had all increased. Every test was highly elevated. His first test was in an area that showed not negative and not likely. It was in the middle and you could not rule it as unlikely or likely. That is the reason why my son had this test ran again when his symptoms had all increased. My son's case has been an extremly tough one to figure out. He has been put into the PANDAS study at OU.
