Mommy2MCL
We are 10 days on Augmentin. Sat and Sunday she seems to have more ticcing than she has had since we started. She was on Amoxocillian for 10 days... 4 days off before we got Augmentin. Otherwise she is fine. Great mood ect... Do kids with PANDAS herx? I looked it up but read it dealt with Lyme... Just worried I guess... Also I thought her tics were worse last weekend but then resolved and got better... What an emotional roller coaster... rowingmom
Kids with PANS caused by lyme or bartonella (both gram negative infections) herx. Gram negative bacterial endotoxin release can be caused either by abx treatment or immune response. You may be killing bacteria you don't realize are involved. chubbermommy
We are only on amoxicillin but DS goes up and down in terms of tic severity too. I'm trying to figure out how to start a detox without starting too drastically.
rowingmom
Our LLMD started DD on methyl B's at the beginning of treatment and didn't tell me they were for. After I figured that out I realized they had been prescribed at too high a dosage, and we have been using lower dosages since then. Make sure the bowels keep moving - we use psyllium husk a couple of hours away from abx. And if you have no CBS difficulties, epsom salts are a good way to boost magnesium and sulfate, both of which are needed for the methylation cycles. http://gotmag.org/mg-deficiency-affects-mthfr-really/
