Frank
Hi, My name is Frank. My wife has, as far as I can conclude this, OCD. To me it looks like a very bad version of OCD, its influencing very part of our lifes. In this post I speak of we as for me and my children (daughter of 3 1/2 and son of 1 1/2) Some examples what she or we need to do to make her satisfied. -Check the doors if they are locked for about 10-15 times, even doors who have been closed for the last few weeks. -Vacuumclean and mop the whole livingroom and kichen every day thoroughly. -We NEED to shower when we come home from a trip outside. -All newly bought cloth need to go throught the freezer to kill lice. -We can't go with other 'dirty' people because they have lice -All cloth need to wash at 60 degrees C to kill lice and I need to check the washing machine if it washes with washpowder, if its really at 60 deg C and afterwards I need to smell if there is washing powder in it and better is to smell what brand of powder is in it to prove there is washingpowder in it. -We hardly can invite people to our home because they don't take there shoes of so the make the home dirty, the (can) have lice. If someone comes then she doesn't feel happy so its no fun to the people invited. -We hardly go out for the same reason. Now there comes the biggest problem. My wife (hardly) can't talk about it and doesn't want to go to a doctor because she doesn't like to and she surely won't listen to him/her (as she says). Is there anything to do for me? Should I force her? Should I wait unit she breaks (if I, and my children, can manage to because I am also hyperstressed!)? She doesn't sees the urge or doesn't want to see...........
