LindaMW
Seeing the post about flares when teeth fall out reminded me of our experience with one of my sons teeth exploding after falling out. We did see a flare in symptoms before it fell out and then subsided after. But the next day I saw the tooth in two pieces and didn't know what happened. Then later that day, I was sitting at my desk and the remaining piece exploded again. It was like a popcorn kernal. Now we are still waiting for test results, but my husband wondered if there is an infection, somewhere, that could have caused the explosion, it could be fermenting the tooth and caused it to explode. Does that make any sense?
Mayzoo
All my daughter's teeth have broken into two or more pieces. Her dentist says it is perfectly normal and part of the drying/constricting of the teeth post removal. I even took one in for him to look at. He is a good dentist and a family friend who is very aware of her issues, but that does not make omnipotent, so if you learn anything contrary to what he said, please let me know.
