Jon
Hi, I am a 37 Y.O university student studying to be a Mental Health Nurse, since I can remember I have always had a tic, I never have the tic when anyone is around but I have this incredible urge to tic when no one is around, it is difficult to control(almost impossible when nobody is around), as far as I am aware only one person has ever seen my tic, I have seen a doctor when I was about 24 in relation to this but he didn't seem to want to deal with this issue and focused on other problems. The tic is fairly violent, and difficult to explain but I will try, it involves a build up or urge I then move my hands to the side of my face or to the eyes and my neck tenses and my whole head shakes, I sometimes rub my eyes and on occasions people have said recently that I look like I have a black eye, I worry about this because my head shakes quiet violently and I am worried that could lead to more serious problems when I get older, also it does seem to be worst when I am extremely sad or excited. I just wondered if anyone else has suffered with this and if anyone can advised what I may be suffering from, I will be going to the doctors about this but it is incredibly embarrassing to say the least. Chemar
Hi Jon this really sounds like something you should return to a physician about! From your description, this does not sound to me like just a tic. It almost sounds more like some kind of seizure or something like that, but I am not a doctor so I am just speculating from what you described.
