EAMom
Do you find that you have better success in combating the PANS/Pandas by spreading the antibiotic throughout the day or giving it all at once? It depends on the antibiotic and it's half-life. Which one do you have? Also, if you have a antibiotic that you have to take frequently (say 3x daily) it makes it harder to squeeze in a priobiotic (which you normally are supposed to take 2 hours before or after an antibiotic). hugs2day
We use Azithro 1 time daily, but in a flare if we have to increase (which helps) I will give the extra 2ml in a second dose right before the 4pm crash starts. Yes the second dose helps tremendously taming back the pandas beast. I give probiotics first thing in the morning with breakfast and an hour before bed. We switch around, so it might be good to know what has worked for people with different antibiotics.
Nearlydoc
The 4 pm crash is an accurate name. Our dd takes 2 tspn of Cefdinir in the am and 1 in the evening. Adding that evening dose helped. Strep is still not under control as we cannot miss or give medicine late. Wondering if I should switch to azith. Having a hard time getting the Teva or Sandoz manufactured azith here.
