Yes loose stool would be the eventual symptom that it might be too much. As you know we've been doing very hd probiotics for over a year now with our entire family and we have not had to back down 'yet'. You can stop probiotics for a week and restart and see if you have the same issues.

The goal is to step down and off completely... It takes about two years and its an exponential thing as they improve. I am told even the littlest amount will produce negative side effects at some point.

sorry -- i don't understand -- 'littlest amount" of probiotic? what negative effects?

Once the gut fully repairs even the smallest amount of probiotic might cause soft, not well formed stool or just not feeling well. Eventually you should feel better off them, than on them.

Have you done any stool analysis yet? We tested with Metametrix http://www.metametrix.com/ and even with all the probiotics the kids are taking they were still in the low range of good bacteria... 0 to 20%. We've worked through a ton of bowel disfunction with the kids (constipation, constant discoloration that ranged from aqua, yellow, green, red and loose stools/soft stools) and everything is now regulating including color, texture, size, time of day, easy release.
