lmkmip67
Dr. B prescribed the liquid prednisolone for Ian. But the way the pharmacy put it on the label is confusing. It says 2 1/2 for 5 days, then 2 tsp for 4 days, etc. I know the burst isn't that long, and is only 5 days. Is there anyone that can tell me what the correct burst dosage is for a 7 year old? I can figure it out even with burst instructions someone else got. I just don't think they meant for him to take this for close to 20 days. lol I have to give it to him tonight and want to give the right amount, and of course the office isn't open now. Thank you! dcmom
I am not a patient of Dr B, but my doc does a tapering burst- starts high, decreases the dose every week, for 21 to 28 days. Are you sure it is a 5 day burst? The longer taper has been really helpful for my kids....
kimballot
Hi - my son is older, but Dr. B did a 21 day tapered burst with my son. It was similar to the times that you have, though we did pills. In fact, my son had a 5-day taper from ENT that he ended just before our appointment with DR B, and Dr. B wrote a script for a 17-day taper... for a total of 21 days (Ok, 22, but I think he added one in there to make up for the day we missed before seeing him!). You can call his office tomorrow to double check on it. Best wished - let us know how it goes.
lmkmip67
Thanks. As best as I can figure the total days seem to be at 16 with this bottle. I will just call and ask.
colleenrn
I did a five day burst last month with my seven year old son, prescribed by Dr. T. He took prednisolone 15 mg for 5 days.
