  1. she is not as aggressive as on the bactrim. i am able to get it into her which is amazing, since she gets violent with everything i try, but it does not help her with sleep. up till 3am every night staring at computer. just absolutely stuck. on the bactrim, she was starting to be able to get her self dressed and to sleep, but she was a bit aggressive. ugh! actually, i think i would take her being a tad aggressive instead of up all night with severe OCD. Cipro. does not seem to be touching much. anyone else have this experience?

  2. awhile back, we tried vancomycen for clostridia. my girl seemed to come out of her "stuck" world on this medication during the day, but at night her ocd was severe. everything her always looks worse at night. anyway...we are not having much success with the abx. we have tried lately and i was wondering if anyone ever tried vanco. in combination with anything else before and did you have any luck. any advice is appreciated. thanks

  4. tell me if i have this right???

when my girl keeps saying the same sentence all day long, counting the tiles on the walls all day and checking locks all day long, that would be called the compulsions, right??? and....

when she is stuck watching the same show over and over or stuck on a rock star that she likes ALL day and night long etclll. that would be the obsessions???

she was on the bactrim and mino. she was sleeping better, and was showering a bit, but still "stuck" staring at her computer. she walks around the house with it. Brings it to the bathroom with her. She does not go to bathroom even, cause she is so stuck. Sometimes she tells me that there are too many thought in her head. I am just not sure what it is. Perhaps its calming to stare at one thing and think of one thing, when her brain is so confused. She was also been on this combination. Doctor took bactrim away and she is not mean now. She is still stuck in front of computer, and we can't get her out of house. We are adding in cipro next...

has anyone seen the "stuck" thing with their child. She literally watches the same show 26 times a day. The only thing that I have seen pull her out of this, is luvox, but it made her way too uninhibited, so doctor took her off. can anyone tell me if they have experienced this??? any advice or comments are soooooo welcome.

  5. My girl had several EEG's that were abnormal, but not seizures. Doctors did not even prescribe medications until I asked for it, to see if it would help her aggression. Does anyones child have abnormal EEG's but not on medications. The doctor said lots of people have abnormal EEG's and are not treated. I am wondering how much of the abnormal seizure activity is linked to the tic born illness. Just wondering if anyone else has similar story with the seizures???? Thank You

  6. no. the psych. wants to try ability because she gets stuck on one thought all the time and you can't budge her to eat or do ANYTHING. He said the ability helps them to switch from one thought to another. I just keep hearing folks talk about nameda. figured i would mention it to him. the lyme specialist took her off the bactrim and boy, she is much better. i don't believe it was herxing. Mothers instinct. I think she was overdosing.

  7. the crisis is not ending because i am trying to stay the course and give each treatment time, since some people keep telling me it could be herxing. i am seeing two of the best doctors in nj. we had a horrid experience on steroids. all of our doctors agree she needs to be on the lamictal for abnormal eeg...we were on our way to ny presbyterian. she was going to be admitted and then we stumbled about the bartonella diagnosis. i don't want to give up on this treatment after just trying 3 months of bactrim and minocycine. her behaviors are not learned and all of the bad behaviors go away when treatment works for short periods of time. she is the most well behaved kid you will ever want to meet. she is wonderful, but then meds. stop working and she falls back into her confused agitated world. tried brain stimulation as well as dozens of other treatments, doctors, supplements, psych drugs, alternative doctors, western doctors, voodoo doctors, major hospitals, mayo clinic and the list goes on. nothing has worked thus far. so i guess i am just kind of venting in a place where i know all of you understand. i really have no place else to sound completely crazy and say whatever is on my mind. it's kind of nice, since i can't get out of the house for therapy, because of her anxiety of me leaving. so from time to time, i am going to come back on the board and sound like a crazy, depressed, fed up, and scared mom!!! .... thank god after i do that... i always get the energy from some of the nicest people, to go a few steps forward and keep fighting for this very very sick child.

  8. she was doing well with the friend because her ocd seemed to be better, but like with all other meds, and supplements...it seems to stop working. her ocd skyrocketed and she started to annoy the little girl by saying the same thing over and over. there was no way my child could stop. she had no control over the thoughts. it was futile trying to help my child stop. her brain was taking over. i am wondering now, if i should call the mom to explain. i have not told her anything. perhaps she will have the little girl give the relationship anther try.
