  1. Patty,

I rub his back with creme every night enough to cover back . before that epsom salt bath and

before that epsom salt foot bath.

    A lot ....

    No dryness surprisingly.

    Fish oil causes more tics.

    He is in 3rd grade.

I am sure NAET is great. I believe in it.

The biggest problem is make sue your child and spouse consent to it.

Right now they feel they are at a good balance and do not wish to try NAET.

We are learning to live the little flare over a long period of time.

As long as he is happy with his life we will let it be.

As child, I am amazed that he listens and do the things we ask him to do.

Our kids do not eat junk such as cookies, ice cream, chips,etc...

Even my daughter who is a calm sociable person and no tics.

They have fruits after dinner every night.

Our lifestyle has changed for the best.

I am looking to Grapeseed extract to boost his immune system.

Does any one know a brand?

    Take care.

  2. I think it is a combination of everything.

    Body chemistry changes.

    Excitement.

    Food..

Perhaps an increase in Mag is also in order since he has increased in body weight.

2 days so far and no noticeable tics.

    Above hyperness.

Even in the morning he is all jumpy and excited.

  3. After almost of a year of no tics.

My son is getting a slight nodding head tic.

It occurs about 4 times a day. Not a lot.

    Triggers?

Lots of cheese in summer time(eaten with digestive enzymes but 1/2 the dosage)

    Lots of arcade/video games.

To top it all it was the disney world that triggered it.

    Then it subsided.

Then slight allergy, much better as each year he ages.

He wash his noses twice a day with saline solution for about 2 1/2 years now.

    Then new strict/mean piano teacher.

Then chinese school in the weekend for the first time.

Then new PE teacher. He told me he got nervous. Got couple of head tics and took a deep breath and it went away.

That day I saw no tics.

However he is a happier kid then before. Still takes a little longer to warm up in new crowd and events.

So with this regiment of Magnesium/probiotic/flax oil/Epsom salt bath and creme they are helping.

    Take care!

  4. My belief is anxiety.

When a person is seated in a table(as the case with my son), there are 4 sets of eyes looking at you.

His grandma would always stare at him when he used to tic.

Plus when you are sitting there are no where to run to.

keeping still for a normal kid is hard to do imagine a kid with tics.

  5. Thanks Cheri,C.P.,and Kim.

    Came back from doctor.

Amox for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks blood test.

It is a small bullseye mark.

    I will call Houston Enzyme.

C.P. Yes he had tics but don't think TS.

He had his tics in remission for about a year now.

Doctor said early stage is 100% cureable so it is close to 95% :-).

Garlic , honey, vitamin c are definitely good source.

Cheri, great website and scary. They are not bacteria but some kind of protozoa..whatever that means.

I hope they get eradicated in my child's body.

School is allowed after 2 days. During 2 days he might feel chills do to the die-off. All told by this doctor.

    Thanks All..

    P.S.

Make sure to check your kids neck, ear , underarmpit and crotches for deer ticks or bites per doctor

  6. Deager,

    from http://www.enzymestuff.com/magnesium.htm

Suggestions for mixing Natural Calm if you don't care for hot drinks:

What I did on various occassions was:

    * Add 1/8 to 1/4 cup boiling water to the amount of powder. This istantly dissolves the powder so it disperses into solution. Then add that to cold orange juice or lemonade. Even punch type drink or other juice will do. Because the natural calm is already citrus, it blends well into a citrus drink (no strange taste). You can add it to an appropriate bottle of flavored water.

    * I put the powder into empty capsules and my son just swallowed 2-3 capsules in the morning and then again at night. Eventually he liked swallowing the capsules better so I looked around for magnesium tablet, and that is when we went to the Source Naturals Mag malate. However, I he and I both felt that the Natural Calm was metabolized much quicker (he was old enough to say this because he takes it to relieve constipation. I take magnesium more migraines and muscle relaxing.)

    * You can dissolve the Natural Calm in hot water along with a tea bag - make hot or cold tea this way.

  7. Cheri and others,

This might be a good tool for you guys who has filtration system.

    http://www.amazon.com/TDS-Meter-Disolved-R...5309&sr=8-2

This measures TDS, total dissolved soluables.

TDS will consists of metals, salt, minerals,etc...

Pure water suppose have 0 ppm reading from this meter.

    Poland spring has 26 ppm.

Water faucet is about 200-300 ppm.

My Reverse Osmosis is about 13 ppm.

The more ppm the harder the water too.

Yes mineral is a good thing too, however I wish there is a tool that tells me if that ppm consists of metal or just minerals or both..or salt..

    Here is what I do.

I measure the faucet water and get its reading, i.e 200 ppm.

I measure the filtered water and get its reading , i.e 13 ppm.

So 200-13 is 187..that is how much TDS removed.

    so 187/200 is about 93.7% .

Replace your RO or filtering system about 80%. Which means TDS will show 40 ppm on your filtered water.

  8. Fifforit,

I am glad to hear from you again.

One point that sticks out from your post is that your mom did not notice you having this tic.

My question to all of us including me is...

What is being a normal kid/person?

What is it that make us normal?

We behave and act the same way?

We have to talk the same way?

My answer to that question is after many trials and tribulations is...

Just be yourself ...Just be yourself..

Whatever God has given us...given you...

It does not means we should stop getting healthier..in fact it is our responsibility to get/eat healthier..

because this so call gift from God, LIFE is very percious..

When a baby is born..it is precious..

But be yourself ...enjoy life as much as possible...

Don't be hard on yourself ...if only he can walk without hopping...some people can not even walk..but sit in a wheel chair..

There will always be people better than us.

There will always be people worst than us..

Be happy with what God has given us and IMPROVE upon it..but don't fret it..LIFE IS PRECIOUS..

  9. Fitforet,

Can you tell us the steps you have taken to help him with his tic problem?

Perhaps we can have some inputs in adding to your steps you have taken already.

This whole community is waiting to help with whatever knowledge we have.

Can you tell us if you have try to find a alternative doctor to help him with adding supplement?

More information here would be helpful for us to help you.

    Good luck

    Daniel

  10. Carolyn,

That sounds strange. Winter time usually means low humidity.

We all have humidifier turn on.

First thing I would buy is a humidity meter that reads humidity.

We have one in our son's bedroom.

This will tell you if you really have a humidity problem.

Winter time you want a humidity of around 40.

Any dehumidifer is okay, the bigger the bucket the more moisture it will hold and less of emptying the bucket.

Otherwise put it next to your window and connect the hose that comes with it and put it out the window.

Dehumidifier does produce a fair share amount of heat. It will warm and dry up your room.

I am not sure why your door would swell up in winter time.

    Strange.
