I have to spell out names and sentences that are divisible by 2 and 3. I used to only do ones divisible by 3 but then for some reason it changed to 2 and 3. For a name or sentence to be perfect it has to have at least 6 letters or 12, 18 etc. If this doesn’t work I will adjust the sentence or name till it does. I do this really fast, lightly pressing every 3rd, 6th and 9th fingers. I do it so well that nobody has ever noticed. I have no choice. Or that’s what it feels like. It doesn’t interfere with my job because when I’m busy I can suppress it, but as soon as I physically stop doing something, I’m off! Even to the extent of making up random phrases in my head so that I can count. If I’m seeing someone’s name written down, or especially on tv, I have to count. A lot of the time I don’t even realise I’m doing it because it is so automatic. If the name doesn’t divide by 2 and 3 I am so disappointed and almost feel bad for that person, and I try to make it work.... for their sake! Totally crazy, I know! I don’t know when I started doing all this. It seems like I’ve done it all my life ( I am 53 now). I always thought I must be the only person that has ever done this so am SO relieved to find this forum!
