  1. lynnie1264,

Hi, My son was found to have an egg intolerance through a IGG test. What's interesting is my husband gets an upset stomach when he eats eggs and so does his mom. So, I really think my son got the intolerance from my husbands side of the family. So I think it can possibly be passed down from a parent. Char...

  2. crazy,

Hi, After you started your son on the topamax, did it help the tics to stop? I noticed that you said your son takes a homeopathic detox remedy. I have read that if someone is taking supplements for detox then, since the body is trying to detox, it can increase tics for awhile. Just thought I would suggest that for a possibility to look in too. When you say your son is having eye tics, do you mean eye rolling? Char...

  3. abbe,

Hi, I'm not an expert by know means but I'll tell you what I do when my sons tics start to increase a bit. I give him extra vitamin B6 and I give him a Epsom salt bath. My son gets 50 mg of vitamin B6 already in The Ts-plus so, I'll add 50 mg more of the vitamin B6. However, I do not do this everyday but, I will when his tics really increase. It seems to help a bit, and I'll take that. Also, I really try to clean up his diet as much as possible. I know it's so hard to see your child when the tics increase. I too find it very hard and I go into panic mode, I get knots in my stomach and it's all I can think about. But I do have to tell you that, I find that my sons tics seem to decrease to a milder form in time usually. So when I'm in this panic mode I try to tell myself, think on the bright side because hopefully the tics will get milder soon, which a lot of the time they do. I hope your sons tics calm down soon. Hope this helps a bit. Char...

Hi, you said if some one's liver is not functioning properly then it can cause tics. On my sons OAT test it said his liver was sluggish.I am just wondering if your son has ever had any liver issues? If so, what did you do? Do you give any supplements to your son for Neurotransmitters (Brain chemistry) because it also stated on my sons OAT test that his Brain Chemistry needed supplements. Did your son ever have eye rolling? My son has it all the time and it's hard for him to focus, Any suggestions? Thanks Char...

  5. Has anyone used Florastor to get rid of a Clostridial infection? I have thought about using Flagyl but the die off effects are a bit scary!! I just don't want my sons tics to get worse! I am really confused about what to do, my son is currently taking Cultrelle 2x a day. But I don't think that is enough to get rid of the Clostridial infection. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks Char...

  6. footballguy,

Hi, just wondering what you are using to get rid of the parasites? Have you noticed that what you are taking for the parasites has helped? I have read that some people with lime disease, needed to take antibiotics for a full year to get there lime disease under control. Just thought, that maybe it's something to look in too.

  7. Faith,

My daughter is 13 and she was diagnosed at 4. Her symptoms when she was diagnosed were extreme thirst, weight loss, and going to the bathroom all the time. She is on a insulin pump. So it makes her life a lot easier with balancing her food and insulin intake. She has her ups and downs but over all she is doing great. It was a lot harder when she was small because she could not tell us how she is feeling.I find my sons diet to be harder then hers because her diet is not so restricitng. I am pretty sure that she has an egg intolerance like my son because if she eats plain eggs she gets an upset stomach and eczema on her arms. I've never done an IGG on her but maybe I should. My son has been on the Liver life for 2 days now and his focus seems a lot better today. I don't know if it's just coincidence but I'll keep you posted. What do you think about the OAT test saying my sons (Brain Chemistry)-Neurotransmitter Metabolism needed supplements?

Hi, My son was on fish oils for awhile but I found that the fish oils increased my sons tics. Once I stopped the fish oils my sons tics went back to how they were before I started the fish oil. I know that fish oil helps some children ,so you may just have to try it with your son and see what happens. I hope it does help your son and not make the tics worse, like it did with my son. I found vitamin B6 to help a little with my sons tics. Have you tried vitamin B6 before with your son?

  9. I am very interested in this supplement because on my sons Oat test, it says his Brain Chemistry(Neurotransmitter Metabolism)-results point out nutrients are needed to help support my sons brain chemistry. So I was wondering if maybe this supplement would help. Any thoughts would be great. I also want to add that my sons OAT test indicates that his Carbohydrate Metabolism is indicating that the pathway process of carbohydrates "carbs" could benefit from nutrient support.Does anyone have experience with this? I found that interesting because one of my daughters has Diabetes. I have already talked about the bacterial infection, but I'll write exactly what the results say- The bacterial metabolites suggest the need to support gastrointestinal health and liver processes within the body. Would enzymes to process Carbohydrates help with the Carbohydrate Metabolism? Do any of your children have problems with Carb Metabolism? I'm trying to get rid of the bacterial infection and I started my son on liver life from Bio-ray yesterday to try to help his sluggish liver. I am hoping and praying that if I get to the root of these problems maybe it will help his tics and his focus. I would love to hear your thoughts on what I've mentioned. Thanks Char...

  10. Just wondering if, anyone has had a child with a clostridial bacterial infection before? My son is said to have one through his OAT test. So I am wondering, If your child did have it, how long did it take to get rid of it? What did you use to get rid of it? I have been reading about clostridial infections and it says one of the common symptoms of it is diarrhea. Well my sons has the exact opposite ( bad constipation). So I am confused. He has been using Culturelle for a month now and it has really helped with his constipation, I think a little with his tics. Because I have ran out of culturelle for 4 days now and his Tics have increased a bit. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? Feedback would be appericated, Thanks so much Char...

  11. I have been looking at Native Remedies lately. There was a member on here, I think her name was eneyln ?? Sorry, I can't remember the exact members name right now. But anyways, She said she used some native remedies products. ( Purecalm, Mindsoothe jr. and Brightspark). She said her daughter used the products and within two weeks, she really notice a different in her daughters tics. She also stated that within a while her daughters tics were almost all gone and if she stopped using the products, within four days the tics would come back. After reading this, it brought tears to my eyes because I love to hear success stories like that, it encourages me to never give up hope. That maybe one day, I too will find that one thing to really help my sons tics. Has anyone used these products before? What were your experiences using these products? It would be great to here any suggestions about these products. Thanks, again Char...

  12. Hi ALL,

I find this subject very interesting!! Can vitamin B5 help with healing the adrenal glands? My son was found to have a vitamin B5 deficiency, after having the OAT test. So my questions is, how common is it to have a vitamin B5 deficiency when having tics? How many of your children were found to have a vitamin B5 deficiency? This article is very interesting, I wonder if anyone with tics has tried to use DHEA supplements before? It would be very interesting to know!!!!

  13. mommyof2,

Thanks for sharing what you are trying with your son. It's great to hear that the topamax is helping a little with the tics. Did your son ever have eye rolling? My son has eye rolling that does not seem to get any better, it is all the time. It is very hard for him to focus, when his eyes are rolling all the time. Can you please keep me updated on how your son does on the topamax? I am very interested, because as I have said before I want to look at all my son options and others experiences with different things they have tried. I hope your son continues to do well on the topamax. Char.....

  14. Myrose,

It's so great to hear your daughter is tic free again! I hope you had a great Christmas. I did, it was great to just enjoy the day with my family and not worry about my sons tics if it was just for one day. I decided not to worry and enjoy the day, I am glad I did! If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions for you. You said your daughter is on topamax. I am glad that you have found something to stop your daughter tics. Just wondering when you started your daughter on topamax, did you see any side affects? Do you see any side effects now? I am wondering because I want to look at all options if my sons tics get worse. Because I have read they can get worse between the ages of 8 to 13. My sons turns 8 soon. I am praying they do not get worse but I just want to look at all my options and peoples experiences with different options. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Char.....

  15. ilovedogs,

Thank-you so much for sharing your story about your friends child !! I really needed to hear a great story like that today. My son went to get some new glasses today. The guy working there was fitting him for his new glasses, he put the device up to his eyes to check the positioning for the nose piece. Well my sons eyes keep rolling and would not stay still. The guy starting laughing at my son and said stop doing that, you silly guy. The guy thought my son was trying to be funny. My son was looking at him, wondering what he had done that was so funny. Well my heart was breaking once again. I knew my son was not trying to be funny. He can't help rolling his eyes. I just wanted to start crying but I did not want my son or my other children to see me upset. So I waited until I got home and had a cry in my room, I just couldn't help it. So, seeing your story about your friends child has really helped me today. Thank-you again!!! Stories like that, helps me to remember that there is always hope. Eye rolling, does it ever get any better? Is there something I need to try, that really helps with eye rolling? Char....

  16. Mara,

I just wanted to say Hi. My son too also started tics at 3 and a half. He had swollen glands but the docotrs never checked him for strep. I look back and that makes me very mad. Also he got his first flu shot then. So I think those to things maybe started his tics but I can't be sure. What kind of Tics did your son get when he was 3 and a half? I am very interested because that's when my son started too. Welcome and I'm sure you'll get alot of answers here, as we all are looking for answers. Char....
