  1. Hi argentanya, I'm sorry to hear this. My son has tics... on the mild side but still, no one likes to see their children go through this. Since it seems your daughter's tics are meds induced, I'm not sure if this would work on her. Jump on YouTube and search for Dr. Stack, Dr. Brown, Dr. Garcia, Dr. Lee and others. Search YouTube and the web for "tmj temporomandibular joint tourette appliance". I'm seriously considering it having it done for my son. Just yesterday I asked him if he has discomfort in his jaw joint and to our surprise he says that his jaw joint does bother him and some
  2. Hi there, my eight-year-old son has been ticking since he was two. We've tried some diet changes (gluten free, low sugar, only grass fed dairy) and some supplements. Sometimes these changes seem to work. Sometimes they don't. Can't find a decisive pattern. I've done a bit of research on TMJ doctors who have been able to stop or reduce tics on people with TS using a dental appliance. Jump on YouTube and you'll see for yourself. The main doctors posting on YouTube are Dr. Stack, Dr. Brown (they work together) and Dr. Sims, who per some posts on this forum, was trained by Dr. Garcia (third party
  3. Hi there, Sounds like you're taking the right steps. Diet changes took about 2.5 months for us until they took effect. Check out our story here:http://latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=24731 Also, I would post a separate topic with the subject line being something like this, "Tics need help finding a good Dr in the (your city and state here) area". Environmental/hollistic physicians can be hard to find and they're the ones who know what tests to run. Someone here would probably know of someone in your area. I'd also buy this book, Natural Treatments for Tics and Tourette's b
  4. Hi Sheila, Thank you so much for your recommendation. We actually had our boy seen by two other practitioners here in the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Springer, MD at LifeWorks Wellness Center and Dr. Jared Roscoe, DC. They did muscle testing on him (still doubtful about its validity) and stated that he had an overgrowth of yeast in his intestine (leaky gut syndrome). The tests they suggested to further diagnose were expensive (tests that you cover in your book Natural Treatments for Tics and Tourette's), so we opted for the changes below as our first steps until we could save enough for the tes
  5. My six-year-old has been blinking his eyes on and off since he was two. Of late, he started stretching his neck, blinking from what was once in a while to every two seconds, and grimacing with his right eye and cheek. Except from this strange throat clearing thing he only does as he wakes up and goes to sleep, he doesn't have any verbal tics. We have him off gluten, artificial sweeteners/colors, and have drastically reduced his TV-watching time for one week so far. We've noticed a bit of improvement but his tics seemed to have spiked up as of yesterday. We want to run the tests that Natural Tr
