  1. Hi all, Okay, so my 7 year old, and all of us, got the flu back in Feb. Ever since then he has never stopped sniffing. We have tried everything as far as allergy meds go with no luck. Been to normal doc and they tried a few things like thinking it was sinus infection starting and giving antibiotics with no luck, nasonex, and things like that. As it got worse, and my wife and I got more crazy (and a bit mean to him from time to time... I know... it's awful), I started researching and sadly got hit with tons of Tourette forums. Well, I am not one to jump at that kind of assumption lightly without reason. However, we have a back story as well. When my son was 2 years old he went for about 7 months of doing this thing where he would be walking, talking, or whatever, and would just boom, stop, eyes roll back in head, wouldn't respond to you for about 20 seconds, then back to normal and keep going like nothing ever happened. We took him to a Neurologist after about 5 months and it getting more common, but by that point we didn't get far into the Neurologist visits and it stopped as quick as it had started. They chalked it up to a temporary tic and I have never thought about since, until now. Then, I also started thinking about all this and reading your forums and I have noticed that maybe he has tics all the time that I haven't noticed. Small things. Like, if we put him in a normal T Shirt he constantly tugs at the collar and MUST have it pulled forward off his neck for some reason. He is always messing up his t shirts because of it so we didn't think much of it, except that they just must piss him off, so we got him polo shirts and he does okay with those. He still does thing thing where he shrugs his shoulders as to make the shirt slide up and forward some. He also has issues with pants. He HAS to have them pulled up like crazy high. If I try to pull them down to sit on his hip, as soon as I turn away he pulls them up real high again. If I mess with him too much he will often times swat at me over it. I am just curious about your thoughts. I have him an appt for the ENT on the 19th under the assumption he just needs allergy medicine, but the sniffing is driving us crazy! Wondering if you all think I should mention back story to our ENT, whom I know and she is a great lady, just to mention it and/or schedule an appt with a neuro? Also, just an FYI. We eat all organic and are a very fit family, so I would hope if this is mild Tourette's, that will at least work in our favor. Regards, LWBLEVINS
