  1. My son takes Methyl B12 injections. What serious problems can they cause? Nancy
  2. He possibly has pyroluria and I found a B12 deficiency... Going to get a good b complex as well as the B12 shots. he gets B6 (as P5P0 daily any way. This is my baby we're talking about. He can't be gray!No vitiligo. Getting some MSM today. What else does it do please and thank you? Nancy
  3. I found four gray hairs on my 17 year old son's head. What is he missing that could cause this? Nancy
  4. This does grow freely in Australia as well. They can not export plants to us because of the potential of insects coming in to the country. We found that a way around this is to dry the leaves then make an extract from the powder. My friend is working on this for me. Is anyone else interested? Not sure if I can but trying... Nancy
  5. In looking around I saw that it grew in New South Wales Australia. I have a friend there working on it. Importing it will be another matter... Wondering how we can make it so? Nancy
  6. If you go tomorrow, please dress warmly! It was so windy. Hats and gloves needed. Nancy
  7. Trying to think of what would get the most attention. Since Halloween is right around the corner, black and white striped shirts and ankle ball and chains would really be dramatic symbolizing that Elizabeth is a prisoner. Also if we could get the specific names of the doctors and social workers involved, for them to see their names on signs on TV might encourage them to back off. It has to hit them personally, not just BCH as a whole. I know if I saw my name personally,I'd be really upset as it would not be as easy to hide under the protective cover of BCH. also the parents should lodge a comp
  8. After a month on Duflican my son's candida albicans (yeast) IgG is almost normal, but his IgA will not budge from it's very high 2.4 (0.9< is normal) Is this a different type of yeast? He's had digestion issues forever so I suspect his yeast is in his digestive tract but could this mean it's somewhere Duflican can't get? I thought Duflican was systemic? Are there types of yeast Duflican can't get? Help! We;ve tru=ied Grapefruit Seed extract, garlic, Yeast killing combos.... Nancy
  9. After so many antibiotics and not taking much Nystatin or pro-biotics, my DD20 started with very powerful vocal tics. When we take duflican and keep a low yeast/ no sugar/ low carb diet she doesn't tic at all. If she eats carbs it comes back strongly. I have been giving her lots and lots of probiotics in addition to duflican, but she is headed off to college and since she doesn't want to follow a low carb no sugar diet till the yeast is gone, won't. As fellow moms and dads, I need you to post about yeast and how it causes tics please. Please resist adding other theories as we have tested this
  10. ketoconazole Has some serious warnings. hopefully we can get it with duflican and garlic and mega probiotics. Cholestyramine works incredibly well, stopping tics for hours, I assume as it drags out yeast, mold, and toxins. Pharmacist told me to add Krill oil (EFA). Hopefully with yeast free diet she can do back to school. i'll have her potassium checked too. Nancy
  11. We have determined that my daughters severe vocal tics are yeast related. We are using Cholestyramine powder, which helps the most, garlic, probiotic blend, and diflucan. We need to break out the biggest treatments possible. Any other suggestions. She does not even have band 41 anymore, so it is not Lyme. Nancy
  12. Nancy!! can you tell me more about this? I searched wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholestyramine and found this is used to lower cholesterol. Is this considered a Statin? The reason I'm asking is that my PANDAS dd has VERY high cholesterol, total is 271 (with high very high LDL 202). The endocrinilogist wants to put her on statins. Of course, probably won't do the statins (due to side effects, unknown long term use, controversy) ... unless (since I read they are also anti-inflammatory) they might also help her PANDAS. okay, I see it considered a "statin alternative
  13. I would call your pharmacist and read that long handout they staple on. Headaches can be serious.
  14. Also a candida albicans antibodies (Sp?) which tells how high the yeast is. Also I'd do streptozyme. I wasn't happy with Dr. B either. Dr. T just ordered about 30 tests for my daughter so no stone is left unturned. He included every virus as well as all kinds of immune markers. We think we have it. This disease is ever changing and has more and more infections as a possible cause. He did a great job. It could be a virus or many other infections. I'm hard to please and I felt he was extremely thorough and I didn't have to be the one trying to figure it out from what I'd read on the Internet.
  15. Cut her dose and start tapering off. YES this is what happens to our kids on SSRI's. Luckily Dr. T is your doctor and advised you ahead. He is a genius and an angel. I just spoke to him about Cholestyramine and how it helped my daughter who can not take SSRI's. BE SURE TO TAKE Vitamin D with it. 5000 iu. We started at 1/4 scoop twice a day with good improvement. we went to 1/4 4 times a day with much less tics, OCD... It pulls out the toxins. Really helped. It's a powder and you mix it with juice. Also have you had her Vitamin D and B12 levels taken? They can really contribute to this.As a par
  16. We had a very bad experience with Luvox but that might just be us.
  17. I just Know it is c-diff causing my daughters OCD, anxiety.... as the only thing fixing it or at least helping is Cholestyramine powder which GREATLY reduced her tics and is recommended as a C-diff help in conjunction with Vancomycin. (Thank you Fixit for the Vanco suggestion) My daughter has been on hardcore antibiotics to fix what we thought was a PANDAS flare which we now think was extremely low vitamins B12 and D as well as huge yeast. Anyone have any documentation about this, or literature? Need help ASAP please! Nancy
  18. Giving my daughter magnesium for tics, depression and OCD made her symptoms at least four times worse. Any ideas why? We think Lyme/ Bart as she only had depression then after a week on Doxy became much worse, as well as Augmentin and Minocycline. Another mom said Babesia is know for horrendous vocals....Had suspect Igenex test with IND's on 31, 34, and 41 on IGM Western Blot, and had a ESR of 60 before prednesone and could only take that for 2 days without feeling much worse. Dr. T says this can also be a virus. We are preparing to go back on Rifampin then Doxy if no major viruses. Scared to d
  19. Ever since we started Lyme/ Bart antibiotics, my daughter developed a horrible vocal tic. She did not have one before starting Doxy, it left with Augmentin, came back with minocycline, and became so unbearable with Rifampin. What the heck do I do? Now I can get it to be maybe 2 periods a day, on those it is constant. She can not live her life this way, or function, or attend school. It's ear splitting, and sounds like a trumpeting elephant. Could she just be sensitive to those antibiotics? When the tic gets worse the OCD gets worse. Why would an antibiotic make a horrible vocal tic occur? H e
  20. OK so after 9 days on Doxy cycline, my daughter developed a bad vocal tic. We switched antibiotics a few times and then started Rifampin which made the OCD and tic much, much worse on day 4. after reading that magnesium deficiency was common for OCD, tics, anxiety, I supplemented and she went absolutely crazy. I then read that Bartonella feed on magnesium. So if she does have bart, it would make sense then that she worsened on Rifampin and on magnesium, right? She became so out of it, I'm worried about continuing treatment or stopping it... If her OCD gets any worse I'll need to hospitaliz
  21. We DID IVIG and she worsened. In some kids with PEX right after they end up with twice as many antibodies and become twice as severe. My friends son had this. MY daughters blood work said she IS low in magnesium, B6, B12, and vitamin C (Low phos alk)Her blood work also showed no sign of active infection. If you Google OCD magnesium deficiency or TICS magnesium deficiency, you will see what I found. There is a distinct relationship. Since tics are the hardest to cure, I found it interesting. Also since many of our kids don't make enough stomach acid, therefore do not get the nutrients out of fo
  22. I thought I heard something about Yasko saying to not use calcium, but I'm not sure that is accurate. Is it still believed to be 2 to 1 (Cal to Mag) or 1 to 1? Thanks, Nancy
