Which handsfree headsets are best?

Also, who conducts these tests? Are the phone companies funding them tests and can we trust the results that they boast?
I use my cell phone very often and am concerned... thanks for your help!

According to bioelectromagnetics specialist, Dr. Robert Kane, not all
headsets are equal in their ability to reduce the RF radiation emitted
by cell phones, and some may be ineffective. While it is generally a
good idea to use headsets if you use a cell phone, he cautions that
none of the headsets reduces the level of RF below the threshold of some
biological effects seen in lab studies (in some cases, levels
As for "air-filled" headset leads, Dr. Kane says these actually still
have electric conductors inside that are surrounded by air, and that any
plug-in headset communicates some amount of radiation to the user.
The cell phone industry makes no claims about radiation reduction with
headsets and reports no testing results. In my opinion, it is always
wise to have non-connected, independent labs do such testing. First,
there must be a recognized concern about non-thermal (non-heating)
levels of RF radiation, then there must be great financial resources,
for such testing is very expensive and there are few independent labs in
the world that can do it.
Unfortunately, I don't have a source to give you on comparative headset testing. As for who does such testing, one example that I know of was some sponsored by a magazine in the UK, I believe, and its published results were very controversial. There are many factors to be considered and controlled for in test design.
Just a note about Dr. Kane, he is an engineer who was involved in the development of the cell phone. He is also the author of "Cellular Telephone Russian Roulette" which traces the history of wireless health research before, during and after the phase of cell phone development.
