Dr Kenneth Bock?

Recommended Posts

Does someone have experience with Dr. Bock (PANDAS doctor with integrative medicine approach).

Did you find it helpful? Or do you have other recommendations?

Our PANDAS daughter has been on antibiotics and supplements for 2 years with good improvement but we are looking for a way to improve the chronic problems making her life still difficult. Her pediatrician has no other treatment option than antibiotics and SSRI and we feel that other approaches should be tried. She also has not been tested for other triggers than streptococcus. We live in Montreal but we can travel anywhere in New England Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Marie --

Our DS has not been treated by Dr. Bock, but I did attend a conference at which he spoke and had the opportunity to talk with him afterwards for a few minutes. I also spent a lunch period with a family whose son is under Dr. Bock's care. All the way around, I came away from those exchanges very impressed. Then I read Dr. Bock's book "Healing the New Childhood Epidemics," and my esteem for his expertise and approach only grew. I would think you'd be very fortunate to be under his care.

All the best!

Yes, we have seen him and I would recommend him. We started on a series of supplements with him. There are a lot of supplements which can be overwhelming, but they all seem pretty benign. His lab offers the supplements, but they are VERY clear that you can get them wherever you want and are under no obligation to buy form his store. I feel more comfortable giving my DS supplements under a traditionally-trained MD.

All was going very well, but we have had some issues with allergies this season. An air purifier seems to be helping. Dr. Bock seems brilliant and very knowledgable about PANDAS/PANS and runs a lot of labs for infections, allergies etc. (which I think is good). I get the sense that he digs deep and tries to find the root cause versus just offering band aids. I liked his book on allergies, ADHD, autism-presented as types of autoimmune disorders. If you see him, please let us know how it goes for you. Good luck!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.  It is so helpful to get help from other parents. I must tell you momwithocdson that in our darker days in PANDAS 2 years ago, reading your posts in this forum helped us to keep hope for the future. I think we are going to see Dr. Bock.
